WELDER

1. Accepts stock from both internal and external suppliers; operates and maintains welding machinery and tools in an efficient, proper and safe manner.

2. With minimum supervision, consistently produces acceptable welds that result in high quality fabricated items well within specified tolerances; selects and uses the proper measuring devices/tools for specified gauging; performs quality checks.

3. Performs fit-ups and jig-ups for various cabinet sections, ventless hoods and a variety of other machines and parts.

4. Supports the operating philosophy of the Company including its policies and procedures; sustains an strong work ethic and caring attitude: is punctual, dependable, cooperative and responsible; assists in self-development and in the training of others when asked.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Correctly reads and understands shop drawings and blueprints.


2. Ensures parts are properly fitted together; produces high quality welds, surfaces are smooth, and finishes are bright in appearance.

3. Practices quality checking and quality control using measuring devices in addition to "feeling quality" and "sight quality"; minimizes the need for re-work during the next process.

4. Uses good safety techniques; keeps safety equipment in good working order and remains responsible for their keeping; has a good safety record.

5. Becomes more knowledgeable of materials, welding machinery and techniques and products; reflects proper care and use of machinery and tools.

6. Increases knowledge of stock including properties and sizes; sustains/increases production efficiency; decreases waste and maintains good scrap control.
