We currently have an opening for a Sheet Metal Fabricator II. Our Metal Fabrication Department is responsible for the assembly and fabrication of various components within the KCI family line of products. We are looking for a skilled, motivated craftsman with a successful background in metal fabrication, with experience with the following types of equipment/machinery: Manual milling or CNC Milling, manual lathes. The successful candidate will produce assigned products according to Company specifications and procedures from engineering drawings, shop sketches, and work instructions.



Responsibilities and Duties

Produces assigned products, and parts according to company procedures and specifications from engineering drawings, shop sketches and work instruction on numerous fabrication equipment including in part: CNC, buffers/sanders, lathes, milling, turner and slip roll, benders, drill presses, press brakes, pem nut insertion, and sand blasters.

Performs critical set-up, operation, and repair of the above mention fabrication equipment/machinery, including use of appropriate hand tools and power equipment for set up and tear down processes

Identifies and selects proper punches, tools and dies used for set up and fabrication, including proper hand tools and power equipment

Visually inspects parts to insure all fabrication dimensions are within specified tolerances.

Adheres to all company safety regulations, policies and procedures, and notifies production supervisor of any safety hazards or violations of policies and procedures

Maintains a clean and organized work area including machinery including routine cleaning and sweeping.

Assists in training Fabricator I and Apprentices

Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as deemed suitable and assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS


High school degree or equivalent and at least 18 years of age

5 years of progressive metal fabrication experience including CNC, lathes, milling, turner, benders, drill presses press brakes.

5 years experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, shop sketches and work instruction including performing shop calculations.

Demonstrated ability to follow safety and work instructions.

Experience in computer operation including time and material gathering systems.

Experience in driving a forklift and moving materials.

Must be willing to work assigned shifts, weekends, evenings, and overtime when required.

A two-year technical degree in machine operation or fabrication or comparable certification, preferred.

Fork lift certification, preferred.

Ability to lift and and/or transport material to and from equipment/machinery weighting 40 to 50 lbs., and team lift heavier items to ensure continual work product flow.

Visual acuity necessary to inspect work and maintain specified tolerances in all prototype and manufacturing processes.

Ability to utilize hand tools and power equipment to set up and tear down equipment and machinery

Requires continual standing, and ongoing climbing, twisting and turning while setting and using fabrication equipment and machinery.
