Quality Inspector

This combination manufacturing and office position emphasizes purchasing and material requirements planning to support delivering customer orders on time. This position is important to our overall manufacturing operations and is solely responsible for ensuring all materials are purchased and made to customer specifications and delivered just in time as to not delay the production of customer orders.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
•Locate suppliers, using sources such as catalogs and the internet, and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered.
•Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
•Negotiate and compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
•Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders in order to verify accuracy.
•Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
•Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
•Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
•Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and those goods meet specifications.
•Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
•Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
•Approve bills for payment.
•Monitor in-house inventory movement and complete inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping purposes.
•Perform monthly physical Inventory of raw materials & manufacturing supplies
•Assist with company safety program
REQUIREMENTS
•Attention to detail•Basic computer (PC) literacy to include proficient skills in MS Word and MS Excel
