Production Manager

Become a member of the world leader. Sea Recovery, manufacturer of Marine Reverse Osmosis Desalinators, is seeking a Production Manager for our facility in Rancho Dominguez (Long Beach area), California.

JOB TITLE: Production Manager

SUMMARY: Experienced, hands-on Production Manager needed to manage our production processes with emphasis on continuous improvement in training, product quality, cost reduction, production efficiency, on-time delivery, and safety.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Supervise 20 production employees (electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, machining, and fabrication).

·Provide hands-on support to production employees, including filling in for Production Supervisor & Inventory Control/Shipping-Receiving Supervisor as needed.

·Hands-on responsibility and accountability for daily production flow and bottom line results.

·Manage production schedule to maximize production effectiveness.

·Assure machinery is properly maintained to support production requirements.

·Assure subordinates have the information and tools to operate their departments safely. Plan and institute procedures or changes to reduce hazards to employees to a zero level.

·Drive quality initiatives and resolve quality issues.

·Effectively manage costs including overtime management.

·Develop and implement training, performance, and safety programs towards employee continuous improvement and performance excellence.

·Prepare annual department budget and ensure compliance.

·Write memorandums and provide oral instruction pertaining to department policies, needs, or operational instructions.

·Provide technical and mechanical/electrical analysis and project support, including coordination with engineering department.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
·High degree of knowledge in mechanical engineering concepts, along with principles and capabilities of specialized machines and tools used in manufacturing.

·Motivating, collaborative leadership style with proven communication skills, and results.

·Project management skills with proven experience in quality and production scheduling.

·Proven ability to make quick, accurate decisions in response to production and administrative needs.

·Proven ability to train subordinates in all aspects of their responsibilities.

·Hands on knowledge of electro-mechanical processes, including use of hand tools and test equipment

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·Minimal local travel may be required, requires clean DMV Record and Valid California Driver’s License

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
·A bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field, 10 years of supervision and management experience in production, machining, and fabrication, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·Minimum of ten (10) years experience in assembly production, machining, and fabrication, five (5) years of which were in the role of Production Supervisor or Manager.
