Product Line Operations Manager - GUTOR

MISSION SUMMARY




 




The GUTOR Operations Manager will be an integral part of a North American start-up assembly operation.  This position will be key in setting up and managing the new assembly operations including staffing, process implementation and strategic direction for Purchasing, Assembly as well as Shipping and Billing.  Developing and managing operation budgets are key responsibilities.




 


KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES




 




Start-up and leading the project specific UPS operations organization from a green field including Purchasing, Assembly and Shipping:



Developing and managing operating budgets


Interfacing with engineering, quality and the Swiss operation/management as required resolving ongoing process issues


Coordinating form pilot assembly program to full operation


Providing leadership and development for three Team Leaders as direct reports


Leading continuous improvement activities ongoing to improve product quality, safety, on time delivery and cost performance metrics


Developing strategic operations initiatives, measurements and achievements


Reporting to the GUTOR NAM Director





 


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE




 




Bachelor  degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering.  Work experience 5 to 10 years preferably in a custom manufacturing organization ideally in a leadership role   Prior Management experience is essential and experience in a start up environment of a new manufacturing line is highly desirable.   We are looking for a self-motivate individual with a high level of initiative and energy in recognizing and resolving problems.




 




There will be a three month training assignment in Switzerland.   Domestic and international travel as needed to support the business.  Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
