Manufacturing Supervisor - Aluminum Rolling Mill

Kaiser Aluminum, one of the world’s most recognized names in the metals business, has exciting and outstanding opportunities for Supervisors working for the Trentwood Rolling Mill located in Eastern Washington in the Spokane Valley (10 miles east of downtown Spokane). The largest flat-rolled-products mill in the Western United States, Trentwood annually produces several hundred million pounds of aluminum coil, flat sheet and plate for worldwide markets in the aerospace, ground transportation and general engineering industries. The facility is currently undergoing a major expansion to meet growing customer demands.

Job Responsibilities

Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts;
Provide leadership, motivation, mentoring and training for workers to achieve work goals;
Actively promote, participate and create a safety culture;
Interpret and convey company policies, specifications, requirements and regulations to employees;
Administer informal coaching and progressive discipline;
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables;
Recommends measures to improve working conditions, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product;
Develop, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality;
Confer with shift supervisors to coordinate activities and work flow with other departments;
Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documents.
REQUIREMENTS
Educational and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, prefer engineering or technical degree;
Three to five years supervisory experience;
Experience in a Union environment a plus;
Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma experience a plus;
Knowledge of manufacturing software;
Good written and oral communication skills;
Good analytical skills.
