Machine Operator

Volt Services Group, a leader in the staffing industry is currently looking for machine operators for 2nd shifts.Position Summary:Sets up and operates any of the following machines to produce parts and assemblies to exact tolerances at 100% or more of expected production levels: CNC Mills, Lathes, Broach, Grinders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reads standard gauges and measuring devices.
Uses standard shop tools such as Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
Follows standard housekeeping and safety procedures, including hazardous waste disposal.
Completes required documentation.
Observes machine operation and verifies accuracy by measuring with gauges, micrometers, or dial indicators.
Inspects and accepts own parts; is certified operator.
Troubleshoots/solves production process problems.
Sets up and produces first article in timely manner with minimal to no supervision.
May train others in operation of machines.
Sets and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depth of cut to machine parts; selects appropriate tooling attachments and adjusts them.
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
At least one year of machining experience preferably in a similar CNC machining environment.
High school degree or equivalent, with intermediate math skills
Ability to become a Certified operator
Ability to read and interpret documents in English.
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
Willingness and ability to support the development of new products


Requirements:

Have to have previous machine experience in a machine shop environment.We need candidates who have CNC experience, and would prefer those that have mill, broach, and lathe experience in a similar environment. We do have some room for varied experience levels (those with 1 yr experience and those with many years of experience). Because of this range, we also have some room for flexibility in wages depending on experience. We do offer a shift differential of $.75 per hour for the second shift – as of now, there is no flexibility in shifts, we are only looking for those candidates interested in the 2nd shift. In general, the 2nd shift is working from 2:00-11:30pm with some overtime during the week and on the weekends as business needs dictate.
