Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Mine Maintenance

This position requires a team oriented person who will safely and efficiently repair haulage equipment in the Mine Maintenance Department.
Perform maintenance on Haul Trucks and other support equipment.
Perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and air conditioning systems.
Perform welding as needed and work from SOPs.
Work with minimal supervision.
Willing and able to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime at a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week, 365 day/year operation.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Five years of successful mechanical repairman experience in an open pit mining environment, or a comparable industrial setting.
Knowledgeable and capable of performing basic welding techniques including out-of-position angles and exegetic materials.
Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair.
High school diploma or GED.
Possess tool set including all standard hand tools and wrench/socket sets up to 1 1/2 inch (or obtain them within 90 days of hire).
Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
Satisfactory performance record (internal applicant).
Must be dedicated to working safely at all times.Preferred Qualifications
Certified experience maintaining Caterpillar equipment and/or Komatsu 930E/830E electric drive haul trucks.Criteria/Conditions (specific background and skills):
Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety foot wear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required.
