Sargent Fletcher Inc. was founded in 1940 (as Fletcher Aviation). SFI expertise has advanced from the external fuel tank business of the late 1940's to developing and fielding aerial refueling systems and special purpose pods in the 1950's.
JOB SUMMARY:

Analyzes engineering data and hand welds experimental parts and assemblies to determine the most effective process using various welding techniques and equipment. Hand welds a wide variety of production parts and assemblies according to blueprint specifications and manufacturing orders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Requires sufficient experience and formal training to be able to demonstrate proficiency in performing close tolerance TIG and MIG hand welding operations using arc, heliarc and argon, helium, argon-helium, and oxy-hydrogen gas welding methods on such metals as alloy steels, precipitation hardening stainless steels, aluminum and aluminum-base alloys and titanium. Qualification to perform these operations will be tested periodically in accordance with the qualification requirements specified in MIL-STD 1595A and SFI QCI 4036.
Must be able to pass an annual vision screening, required by MIL-STD-1595A, where corrected vision in each eye is better than 20/30 for long distance and near vision capability permits reading Jaeger No. 2 type at 16 inches.
