Director, EMS Operations

This position provides leadership and coordination of all resources required to ensure profitable execution of the annual operating plan for the Electromechanical Systems Operations' organization (EMS) in Irvine, California. Serves as the focal point for all manufacturing, quality assurance and procurement issues to achieve business performance objectives on quality, delivery and cost.



Responsibilities include:
Set performance objectives for Irvine Manufacturing Operations and drive accountability to achieve those objectives.
Formulate and implement strategic and tactical manufacturing, materials and quality action plans as they relate to quality, cost, productivity, cycle time and process improvement metrics.
Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and overall continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing.
Develop operating budgets, capital plans and cost reduction initiatives and own the monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for the manufacturing plant.
Ensure compliance with Enviornmental (ISO 14001 and EPA) and Safety (OSHA) standard and policies.
Partner with Engineering, Procurement and Quality to ensure the effective transfer of new products into manufacturing and bring about timely product launches.
Drive a flexible and highly responsive culture able to respond quickly to market forces while maintaining the appropriate levels of inventory.
Develop a high performance team with the flexibility to work where the work is and make nimble changes and provide coaching and mentoring to develop employees for promotion in the organization.

Plans and maintains an effective staff through selection and development of key personnel.



US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent and more than 12 years of specifically related experience including mid-level management or project management.
