Controls Technician

Purpose: Aerotek represents the leader in automotive safety, producing advanced active systems in braking, steering and suspension and sophisticated occupant safety systems for inflatable restraints, seat belts and steering wheels.

Qualifications

Basic computer systems, PLC and Human Machine Interface programming,
Programming of motion control systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
The ability to lead teams. ? not a requirement
PLC experience in "sequential processing."
Experience with "discrete manufacturing" and working with "machine tools."
BS in engineering preferred, but not a requirement for this position

Responsibilities

Provide production support for manufacturing lines from the cell controller down to the device level. Production support includes ensuring accurate traceability data collection, troubleshooting, scrap and LAT reduction, and improved process reliability.

Support business unit objectives by prioritizing projects, designing interfaces for new equipment and making decisions that affect the long-term production process prefferred
VA/VE activities

Project work using controls software.

Provide vendor management and supervision.

Manages machine controls for large to medium size projects.

Create and maintain documents and/or databases. Such activities vary from clerical, to editorial, to creative; e.g. creation/revision of APQP documentation, MI, PI, SOP, equipment specifications, functional specifications, etc.

May provide work to clerical support or unskilled labor at the Clerk 2 to Clerk 3 level including temporarily assigned junior engineers and technicians.

May assist in audit responsibilities within a plant.

Customer Team Member:

Work with team members as a senior engineer, to resolve customer issues related to quality and design, resolve issues relative to the process and equipment and implement the required changes to production lines.

Work with Design Engineering to develop, design and implement changes that result from product changes.

Simultaneous Engineering Team Member: - Not Required

Review and make recommendations to improve product design and processes, using various analytical methods and tools (Design for Assembly, Manufacturing and Experiments, Six Sigma).

Work with the core team (Design, Quality, Supplier Quality and Packaging Engineering) on new product development and implementation.

Approve design changes and verify these changes do not adversely affect the process.
