Continuous Improvement Coordinator

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will have overall responsibility for the administration of the CI/Lean Manufacturing /JIT program.Nature and Scope:1. Foster a participative style of management while demonstrating a Contagious/outgoing personality. Acknowledge associates as the “heart” of the system.
a. Motivate, train, facilitate and coach
b. Develop all associates
c. Advocate employee empowerment and involvement2. Coordinate all CI/Lean Manufacturing /JIT training activity. Lead all associates in:
a. Focusing on the customer. Meeting customer cost , quality and delivery Expectations.
b. Understanding capacities and constraints
c. Adjusting staffing levels to meet demand requirements
d. Minimizing finished and work-in-process inventory while producing products in small lots.
e. Utilizing standard work
f. Establishing practices that support associates
g. Establishing , maintaining and continuously improving process capabilities
h. Utilizing and expanding the use of error-proofing devices
i. Implementing disciplined pull systems (Kanban) where product is replenished based on consumptionj. Minimizing set up, start up, and shutdown times
k. Institutionalizing workplace organization and visual controls
l. Optimizing transportation and conveyance cost
m. Optimizing plant machine and office/work areas
n. Employing packaging containerization methods that protect the product, associates and environment
o. Promoting the development and rationalization of the supply base
p. Leveling the schedules while maintaining the marker responsiveness
q. Reducing lead-times and increasing value content for any receptive cycle or stream3. Promote a philosophy of incremental, continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating all forms of waste and reducing all forms of variability.4. Utilize strategic thinking, speak with data and analytically solve problems5. Promote management by influence versus management by positional authority.6. Be process, system and results oriented.7. Possess a 5-S mentality (clean, orderly and safe workplace with a place for everything and everything in its place).8. Promote TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor degree in Engineering or2. Five years experience in related field (Lean Manufacturing/JIT) or
3. A combination of the education and experience
4. Familiarity with TS16949/ISO 14000 Ford QOS (Quality Operating Systems) or and other proven methods to measure, track and improve performance.
5. Strong interpersonal skills
6. Basic computer skills Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint and project.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skillsGeneral:1. Must be available to work overtime as required by business necessity
2. Must be able to travel with little notice
3. Must pass pre-employment screening and test
