Safety Manager

Environmental Health and Safety Manager- Reporting to the site manager, this position has full on site responsibilities for all EHS & worker comp for this world class manufacturer of chemical products, serving as a manufacturing supplier to a wide variety of industries such as aerospace, defense, chemical and automotive producers.Duties include, but are not limited to:Ensures full compliance with State Workers Comp, OSHA, EPA,ISO/ Environmental, Chemical and DOT Motor Carrier regulations.Ensures full compliance with all HS&E Audit requirements.Must have successful background working with Union environment. This facility works very closely with the local union joint committee leadership and therefore requires a history of success in the arena.Strong written and oral communication skills.Administers all Corporate HS&E policies, with special emphasis on injury prevention programs. Resume must show success history in injury statistics.Handles the employee safety orientation process and HS&E training.Provides administration reports to Human Resource Manager and the Corporation.Provide knowledge and guidance to management in interpretation of safety legislation and practices.Coordinate the Joint Health and Safety Committee and Ergonomic Committee meetings.Track energy and waste management.Applicable candidates should forward resumes to attention of [Click here for email]
REQUIREMENTS
Engineering Bachelors degree with Chemical emphasis preferred, plus 5+ years in a chemical industrial setting or advanced degrees in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental studies would be considered a real plus.
