SUMMARY OF ROLE – Regional Sales Manager - West Coast, Outside Sales
*** This role is/can be a virtual position, preferably located in the Los Angeles/Orange County area (open to San Diego and San Francisco).
The Regional Sales Manager of Outside Sales sets sales direction for the assigned region in conjunction with the goals set by the Director of Outside Sales. Manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the assigned region which includes: hiring and training new territory managers, setting sales strategy, tracking results and measuring performance. Improves sales performance through analyzing daily sales data, and motivating the territory managers.

REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create an educate and aggressive region, daily
• Track and report weekly sales
• Set sales protocol for Territory Managers and follow up, weekly
• Set monthly new business goals for Territory Managers of the direction set by the Director of Outside Sales
• Police representatives activity through account management software, weekly
• Review resumes and conduct phone interviews with prospective hires, weekly
• Prospect, interview and hire representatives, weekly
• Lead representatives through contests, rankings and the creation of a competitive enviroment, monthly
• Conduct reviews of Territory managers activiy, annually
• Trade show management and attendance, quarterly
• Co-travel with field sales representatives, for training and development purposes, monthly (Position requires travel 1/3 to 2/3 of work year)
• Performance review (sales volume) of each representative in each region with the Director of Outside Sales, weekly
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directly supervise 10-15 Territory Managers.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
• Interview, hire, and train employees
• Plan, assign, and direct work
• Appraise performance
• Reward and discipline employees
• Address complaints and resolve problems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates will have:
• Basic computer skills in Windows
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a 4-year college or university
• 2-4 years related experience and/or training or combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
