Prepared Foods Team Member

Summary: Performs in the Prepared Foods department all of the following tasks: preparation; counter service; sanitation, and stocking of products. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient Customer Service. Supports Team Leader and regional coordinator in training and maintaining regional standards. Will Do: 1. Provide excellent customer service 2. Follow and comply with all applicable State of California Health and sanitation procedures. 3. Prepare food items: sandwiches, slice deli meats and cheeses 4. Prepare items on station assignment list, and as predetermined 5. Stock and rotate products, stock supplies and paper goods in a timely basis; keep all utensils stocked 6. Check dates on all products in stock to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary 7. Proper use of waste sheets as directed 8. Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner 9. Comply with and Whole Foods Market Safety Procedures 10. Follow established Weights and Measures procedures (tares) 11. Answer phone and pages to department quickly and with appropriate phone etiquette 12. Practice proper use of knives, slicer, trash compactor, baler (must be 18 years of age or older) and all other equipment used during food preparation and clean up 13. Perform other duties, as assigned and follow through on supervisor requests in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
Must Have/Be: 1. Some Deli experience preferred 2. Passion and appreciation for department. 3. Clear and effective communicator. 4. Patient and enjoys working and mentoring people. 5. Ability to perform physical requirements of position. 6. Ability to learn proper use of knives, slicer, baler (must be 18 years of age or older) and all other equipment used during food preparation and clean up. 7. Ability to work well with others as a team. 8. Strong organizational skills. 9. Knowledge of all relevant Whole Foods Market policies and standards. 10. Understands and can communicate quality goals to customers
