Manufacturing Storeroom Manager

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing the storeroom function for the PRG Mahrt Paper Mill and the Cottonton Sawmill, ensuring that storeroom items are on hand when needed, within cost effective parameters. This position is also responsible for implementing corporate-wide policies and procedures in the storeroom area, achieving mutually determined storeroom goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs Storeroom personnel in establishing and implementing supply levels, inventory accuracy, service levels, and data maintenance in support of the PRG Mahrt Mill.
- Trains and develops staff to meet the 24X7 needs of environment while ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. Proactively resolves grievances and disputes.
- Establishes and ensures ongoing discipline in storeroom procedures to assure economic return against inventory levels, GR/IR management, obsolescence control, and stock out risk management.
- Balances corporate-wide initiatives with divisional needs, while achieving source and support metrics. Implement corporate-wide procedures across the division.
- Participates on multifunctional teams to improve efficiency and reduce cost throughout the division.
- Ensures the department operates within the budget. Provides a monthly forecast to accounting for variances.
REQUIREMENTS


REQUIREMENTS
- Requires extensive knowledge of a process manufacturing environment, as well as maintenance and engineering, in order to understand/establish specifications and operating requirements for storeroom materials.
- Prefer ten years of experience in increasingly responsible position in the manufacturing, maintenance, or purchasing area.
- This position requires experience as a supervisor/manager of a group/department or completion of a supervisor/manager type training program.
- Ability to influence and change behaviors from traditional decentralized control to consistent compliance with procedure, reduced vendor options and system requirements.
- Ability to lead cross-divisional, cross-corporate teams.
- Must have good communication and negotiation skills, ability to persuade and influence others.
- Familiarity with on-line purchasing systems and competent in the use of basic office software such as e-mail, Word and Excel.
- Must be able to travel to off-site locations for vendor or corporate-wide meetings.
- High School diploma required preferred college or CPM certification.
