About Us:
Showplace Rent-To-Own, founded in 1982, is based in Marion, Ohio and operates 14 retail stores throughout Ohio. Showplace is a full-service provider of the latest home furnishings, computers, electronics, appliances and jewelry.

We currently are interested in bringing on board additional talent for the purpose of filling District Manager positions in all of our Ohio Markets. Those markets would include Bellefontaine, Bucyrus, Canton, Columbus, Delaware, Galion, Huber Heights, Kenton, Mansfield, Marion, Marysville, Mt. Gilead, Springfield and Urbana.

Position Summary:
This position is accountable for overseeing the operation of a group of rent to own stores to attain objectives in revenue, delinquency rate, customer service and store profitability.

Nature and Scope:
The District Manager is accountable for overseeing the operation of all stores in their assigned district. The District Manager directs a group of General Managers to ensure that each store operates within policies and procedures established by the company and seizes every opportunity to improve sales revenue and control the cost of operations. The overall continuing challenge of the District Manager is to raise the interest and awareness of the factors that cause a store to be successful and ensure that this knowledge is applied to the daily operation of each store.

Although basic merchandise and inventory levels for the store are established by senior management, the District Manager is accountable for providing market-by-market input to assist senior management in their planning process. To ensure proper inventory mix, the District Manager can move product from store to store within limits established by senior management.

The District Manager may, within limits, make price adjustments to dispose of hard to move products. The District manager is also responsible for ensuring that special displays, advertising, and other promotions are implemented to promote the store in the market.

The District Manager will spend 70 to 80 percent of their time in the field working with General Managers and their subordinates on store operations, helping identify problems and recommending solutions. If changes are needed that are outside the budget limits, the District Manager must get approval from senior management before making the change.

The District Manager is accountable for reviewing and approving all personnel actions that impact store employees below the level of General Manager. Any personnel change that impacts the store manager directly must be approved by the District Manager and submitted to senior management for their approval.

The District Manager will participate with senior management in the development of goals and budgets for the district and will review the progress of the district against those plans throughout the fiscal year.

The District Manager maintains constant awareness of potential new store locations within the district and coordinates with senior management to select new sites and open new stores.

Principal Accountabilities:
The principal accountabilities of a District Manager consist of:

Provides Competent Staff:
Recruits and selects a group of General Managers capable of accomplishing the company operating objectives.

Motivates:
Monitors each General Manager in their critical areas of performance, identifies problems and takes prompt corrective action. Encourages individual accountability and commitment to achieving the company mission.

Trains Staff:
Ensures that all assigned General Managers, Assistant Managers and Managers In Training receive all available industry and leadership training. Ensures that all personnel in assigned stores are trained appropriately

Meets Performance Statistics:
Directs the operations of all assigned stores, through the store’s General Managers, to meet projected statistics as designed in the company business plan.

Maintains Assets:
Monitors the store facilities, merchandising, inventory, mix, vehicles and equipment to ensure that all are organized, clean and maintained properly for safe daily operation. Performs periodic audits of stores inventory and cash drawers to ensure the safety and soundness of company assets.
