Job Description:

The Clinical Director position will assume overall management responsibility for agency’s behavioral health services within the context of the agency’s management team and under the direction of the President. This available position is located in Phoenix, AZ and would be responsible for directing and supervising the clinical agency staff. You must be able to travel to CMS locations within Arizona on a quarterly basis.

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Oversees behavioral health services and clinical supervision of all clinical staff for agency’s clinics. Clinical supervision means ongoing, regularly occurring process of examination, critique, and improvement of a clinician’s skills, typically in a one-on-one setting or small group. This supervision utilizes methods of intensive case review and discussion, and direct and indirect observation of clinical practice to assist the counselor in substance abuse counseling skills. Conducts quality record reviews to ensure compliance with RHBA, CARF, as well as State and Federal performance standards.

• Coordinates and implements an ongoing program for training and staff development. This includes organizing training, workshops, seminars, literature, etc. as directed by the local RBHA, CARF, State and Federal agencies. Develop written plan for staff orientation and annual training and quarterly reports.

• Responsible for overseeing the orientation and training of all new counseling staff and the continuing assurance that all appropriate professional standards, licensing and certification requirements for all staff are maintained as directed by the local RBHA, CARF, State and Federal agencies. Maintains personnel files to ensure compliance with State and CARF requirements for supervision and training.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:
(Minimum Qualifications)
• Master’s degree in a Behavioral Health Field.
• Arizona Board of Behavioral Health License.
• Qualifies as a Clinical Liaison per ADHS/DBHS requirements.
• Requires 3 years experience in substance abuse counseling and training.
• Excellent organizational skills, communication skills and computer knowledge is necessary.

Knowledge, skills and abilities are as follows:
• Must be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior.
• Must have good skills in both verbal and written communications.
• Must have sufficient knowledge of general mental health issues, treatment planning and the field of human social services to work towards the rehabilitation of the client.
• Ability to train and clinically supervise counseling staff
• Culturally competent and sensitive to clients individualized treatment needs.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to keep accurate files
• Ability to travel
