The Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation is a not for profit corporation that exists to provide medical services, research and education. The foundation provides the infrastructure for the delivery of physician services, and contracts with a separate corporation comprised of physicians and other care providers to deliver the clinical services. This multi-specialty foundation will provide a platform from which new physicians can be recruited to continue to provide physician services in a nonprofit, community setting. The Foundation's vision is to create a medical group that will delivery high quality, market competitive medical services.

The Care Center Manager manages the day-to-day operations of one or more specialty care centers. This position manages the employees and workflow to ensure that patient needs are optimally met. This position provides oversight and guidance to staff to maximize efficiency and develops processes that improve the workflow. The Specialty Services Care Center Manager promotes teamwork with providers and employees to create a cohesive, effective team that meets the standards of patient care delivery. The specialty services care center manager assures compliance with state, federal, Sutter and Foundation policies and regulations. As a clinical manager, this person is to provide clinical guidance to other call center managers. In addition, a care center manager may be assigned a key major initiative, project or assignment.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or nursing or an equivalent combination of education and pertinent/directly related experience. A Master's Degree in Health Care or Business Administration is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct patient care is preferred. Previous management experience in healthcare in an ambulatory setting is preferred.
Knowledge: Familiarity with basic management fundamentals. Working knowledge of the budgeting process and budget management. Knowledge of office workflow and processes. Knowledge of the principles of CQI and problem solving techniques. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. An understanding of what constitutes a medical emergency requiring a physician or licensed nurse's attention. A knowledge of the scope of practice for Medical Assistants,, Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, and nursing practice.
Special Skills/Equipment: Proven leadership skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language are required. The ability to motivate and train adults. Skills in tracking, trending, monitoring and reporting. The ability to deal effectively with all customers including physicians and difficult customer service issues. The ability to keep information confidential. Organizational skills are important for this position. The ability to develop and implement policies/procedures/protocols. Skills in developing teamwork among members of a multidisciplinary team. The ability to work independently, prioritize work, manage time and workflow to meet deadlines. The ability to pay attention to detail is important.
