Function: Quality AssurancePay Type: ExemptPosition Number: 90050083 Supv QC IIEmployee Type: Full Time Shift 2Job Description: This position is responsible for administering the job duties for QA hourly personnel on the assigned shift. Specifically training and evaluating QA personnel; scheduling the verification activities to assure that product specifications, customer expectations, Corporate Food Safety and Quality Assurance Policies and FSIS regulations are within compliance; communicating effectively with all levels of management and USDA personnel; and managing all documentation associated with the aforementioned verification activities. Other duties include researching and responding to customer complaints, participating in the Food Safety Team meetings, working on special projects as assigned by the QA Manager (i.e. writing procedures, capability studies, record organization and the implementation of plant specific procedures) and managing the microbiological and chemical laboratory activities on the assigned shift.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Requires broad knowledge in a scientific or technical field normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in an academic field.Experience: Completion of the six (6) month QA training program or equivalent.Computer Skills: Requires intermediate computer skills. For example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets, or creating simple queries. Requires basic knowledge of the Tyson Inventory System (WMS, SIM), Bill of Materials (BOM) and other Tyson Software Systems.
Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.Travel: 1-2 trips per yearSupervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of hourly QA personnel in a large facility with a complex product mix, which may include interaction with National Accounts and/or specialized knowledge in dealing with high-risk product(s).
