Patent Attorney

As a patent attorney at Rambus, you will focus on supporting Rambus' strategic patent portfolio development by coordinating patent application preparation and prosecution activities as well as patent development projects. Specific duties will include:•Managing a portfolio of patents related to next generation memory systems and high speed serial interfaces
•Working with R&D planning teams to actively identify and develop intellectual property
•Analyzing products to determine if products are using Rambus patents
•Working with Marketing to develop patent development strategies
•Coordinating invention disclosure process
•Working to identify important technologies and strategic applications
•Assisting in preparing invention disclosures
•Conducting substantive review of disclosures for patent counsel meetings; participating in same
•Coordinating preparation of applications with outside counsel
•Managing domestic and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution docket
•Reviewing the substantive materials prepared by outside counsel
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires an Electrical Engineering Degree, plus Juris Doctorate. You must be registered before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Other requirements include:•2-4 years of law firm or equivalent in-house experience in preparing and prosecuting domestic patent applications
•Some work experience relating to electrical engineering is preferred
•Foreign patent prosecution experience is preferred but is not necessary
•Some litigation, opinion preparation, and/or licensing experience is preferred but is not necessary
•Must be organized and work well with others
