Your Opportunity
LECG is seeking a
Contracts & Conflicts Manager to join the legal department in its Emeryville office. This position will oversee the staff members performing all related contract and conflict check tasks, including managing and prioritizing workloads as well as providing leadership and guidance to these individuals. The person in this position will act as representative for the department with employee population and corporate departments, and work closely with office of General Counsel to ensure efficient and effective running of contracts & conflicts department.
Position Responsibilities:
Review and maintain department staffing levels based on workload and priorities of the organization.
Work to develop and mentor staff, including meeting regularly with team members, and writing and conducting performance reviews.
Act as a liaison with department heads; coordinate resources and priorities as necessary.
Assist with budgeting process.
Organize and prioritize workflow of team members.
Make decisions in line with departmental and organizational goals.
Develop, maintain and adjust contract, ethical wall and conflict procedures as needed in conjunction with Assistant General Counsel.
Provide status updates to General Counsel and Associate General Counsel as appropriate.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Prepare appropriate reports for management (i.e. monthly tracking of conflict checks and contracts, status of contract execution by experts).
Oversee maintenance of database with case document information.
Manage department’s role in acquisition process.
Assist with transition of experts into and out of the firm as necessary.
Ensure appropriate training is in place for new hires joining firm in relation to conflicts / contracts process. Conduct training as necessary.
Communicate with employee population regarding department’s procedures and policies.
Resolve open issues with employee population as necessary.
Coordinate needs with the individual(s) whose case is under subpoena if necessary.
Develop and manage vendor relationships.
Develop and maintain understanding of conflict, contract and ethical wall process. Provide back-up support on functions as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:
BA or BS
Five plus years of management experience in a professional services environment
Direct experience in the administrative operations of a professional services firm
Effective long and short term planning skill
Exponential analysis of work environment, staffing, and productivity
Self-motivated and independent manager
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and managerial communications skills
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent leadership and staff development skills.
Posses a collaborative working style, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated success with negotiations
Flexible with the ability to adapt to and respond effectively to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
