Department Description: The Law Department's Product Safety team provides strategic advice to the corporation and individual businesses on corporate-wide and cross-sector product safety/product liability issues. In addition,they assist the corporation and individual businesses with the development and implementation of consistent product safety policies, processes, and training through our partnership with the Motorola Product Safety Council and various other product safety professionals within the individual businesses.

Responsibilities/Expectations: We are looking for an experienced attorney to provide legal and regulatory counseling with an emphasis on Product Liability/Product Safety in the telecommunications arena. This in-house role will interact directly with all levels of management in a variety of settings and across all business segments of a Fortune 100 Company.

Candidates must have a proven track record of counseling on complex and/or high risk legal issues and posses strong legal drafting, negotiation, dispute resolution and communications skills. Proven ability to work effectively across global business organizations. Knowledge of foreign laws and regulations regulating telecommunication and electronic products and infrastructure is beneficial, but not a prerequisite for position. Some domestic and international travel required.^^

Knowledge Skills: Five to ten years experience in regulatory compliance or counseling role required. Functional specialization in one or more of the following substantive areas of law desired:

Product Liability and/or Product Safety
FCC (including testing, licensing and disability access requirements)
Environmental Safety & Health regulatory, remediation, toxic tort and/or due diligence
Litigation, dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration
Intellectual property licensing/commercial counseling
Superior academic record from an accredited law school
