VEEDER-ROOT CO., the world leader in the manufacture of automatic tank
gauging systems for the petroleum industry and maker of Red Jacket pumps, has the
following openings at its Altoona, PA facility.
CNC SETUP AND OPERATE: Job consists of technical and operational
responsibilities as related to CNC machining, turning, milling and welding centers.
Includes setup, operation, and programming of various makes and models of CNC
machinery.
CNC OPERATOR: Job consists of technical and operational responsibilities as
related to CNC machining, turning, milling and welding centers. Includes setup,
operation, and loading programs of various makes and models of CNC machinery.
The successful candidate for the CNC Operator and/or Setup position must have as
a minimum two years post-secondary technical school or equivalent. Proficient in
shop mathematics, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. Must have at least 1 year
of CNC machining experience and be able to accurately use all measuring
instruments (i.e. micrometer, calipers, depth gauges, comparators, height gauges,
ring gauges, thread gauges) to maintain tight tolerances. G-code programming is a

CNC REPAIR TECHNICIAN: Job consists of the responsibility to troubleshoot,
repair, order parts, manage and direct all PM activities including predictive
maintenance on all makes of CNC lathes, mills and turning centers.
The successful candidate must have accredited apprentice training and 5 years prior
experience as a technician in repairing CNC equipment. Necessary to the proper
performance of the job is a thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics,
hydraulics and CNC mechanics. Must be able to read blueprints, schematics, and
have a good computer skills.
MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN: The successful candidate must have as a
minimum Accredited apprentice training and 2 years prior experience as an
Electrician. Must be experienced in industrial wiring and installation and
troubleshooting relay logic and PLC controlled equipment. Need to have a good
knowledge of hydraulics and the ability to read schematics.
