Senior Java Developer

Classification: Full Time Compensation: Pay up to $100,000 per year Robert Half Technology is recruiting for a Senior Java Developer for one of our East side clients.You will lead development on a J2EE application. Ideal candidates should have 7+ years experience writing scalable server code.
Responsibilities
Designs, implements, tests and supports software components
Articulates design decisions and suggests alternatives
Analyzes and quickly debugs issues from a variety of sources using diverse tools
Interacts with customers, providing technical expertise on software platform
Provides reliable scoping information about future projects based on independent requirements gathering
Mentors developers, balances being a team player and an individual contributor
Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology
Assists with publication of new versions and patches to the applicationsProvides technical support to QA teamIncorporates standards and design patterns to increase maintainability, reusability and reduce bugs
Contributes to the strategic development of the company's product and tools
Must show a commitment to excellence and possess strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills, as well as written and verbal communications skillsRequirements
Extensive J2EE development experience with a focus on JDBC, scalability, high-performance, and object oriented programming
Expert MySQL knowledge including data modeling and design
Experience with database server optimization and tuning
Comprehensive web client development skills (JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, .NET, HTML)
MySQL, JBoss, Apache/modproxy knowledge a plus
Demonstrated experience in developing J2EE/Servlet based, enterprise class applications
Experience designing and optimizing database intensive applications
Wide range of development experience including user interface, middleware, and back-end integration
Experience working with very small teams in start-ups through large corporate environments
