Planner/ Expeditor Position


Andin International, Inc. is a privately held U.S. jewelry manufacturer headquartered in New York with operations in the Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, India, Israel and Thailand. We sell primarily to large department stores and major jewelry store chains. Our Jewelry.com website is the most visited jewelry site on the Internet.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
This role is responsible for the ongoing planning activities to support one or more manufacturing units.

·Review of requirements, sales inventory levels at all distribution centers.
·Scheduling and prioritizing production schedules.
·Monitor customer orders: prioritize and expedite through the process.
·Coordination with raw materials planning to insure the availability and delivery of components.
·Finished Goods capacity planning as needed to support the business.
·Provide leadership for finished goods management to minimize obsolescence and improve asset turns.
·Provide support to the manufacturing units in the planning area.
·Manage dependency transfers between factories.
·Participate in physical inventory process.
·Uses out put to schedule work centers to optimize manufacturing capacity.
·Uses planning systems and processes to make and execute planning decisions.
·Reviews capacity to identify and communicate bottleneck areas and manage over/under capacity situations.
·Communicates with raw materials planner to maintain supply and respond to shortages for current or past due orders, substitutes alternative materials.
·Monitors consumption of older WIP materials to ensure that older materials are used and that newer materials are available.
·Other responsibilities include: Cross training with the planning team, support of site goals and overall commitment to cost improvement.
·Understanding and application of continuous and operational excellence methods.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
·Bachelors degree in Business Management
·3 years of planning/analytical experience in a Manufacturing environment
·Strong communication and networking skills dealing with all functions and levels of the organization
·Ability to lead, contribute and influence others in a team-based environment
·Previous experience in PC bases planning and inventory systems
·Must demonstrate a flexible and collaborative approach to problem solving
·Experience in jewelry a plus
