PURCHASING MANAGER

NOTE: THIS POSITION IS NOT LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FL
My client, a manufacturer located in the Southeast, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager. This individual will be responsible for the management of 2+ Buyers and for the entire purchasing process of an array of metals, plastics and other commodities to include office equipment and furniture.Responsibilities:Develop comprehensive purchasing strategy for all spend categories and create discounts and incentives
Manage a team of buyers responsible for purchasing a wide variety of products and services
Responsible for ensuring buyers Negotiate the most competitive pricesEnsure that buyers receive the appropriate training necessary to perform their functions properly
Certify suppliers and update supplier certification program to enhance supplier performance and strengthen communication
Generate reports on supplier data and statistics per analysis and providing feedbackMonitor suppliers performance
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree
5 years minimum managing buyers
3 years minimum purchasing and supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous Aerospace and DoD/military procurement experience
