Merchandising Manager

Well established, customer-focused Minnesota-based retail leader in hardware products needs your merchandising and inventory control expertise to contribute to the strategic development and success of this organization. Self-confidence and dynamic personality, purchasing, inventory control, merchandising, marketing experience and the energy for multiple retail locations may qualify you for this position. You will report directly to the President.

You will be initially responsible for leading and directing the entire merchandising including inventory control for an eight-location operation.

Essential Functions:

•Create overall strategy and merchandising direction for multiple locations;
•Ensure merchandising, purchasing and inventory are properly managed to maximize cash flow and profitability;
•Develop and implement sales plans for non-producing inventory;
•Monitor and measure effectiveness of promotional programs and quantity results;
•Direct and monitor overall purchasing and pricing strategies;
•Lead and manage inventory planning and scheduling;
•Monitor and control inventory replenishment system to maintain proper inventory levels;
•Ability to establish trust, loyalty and respect with co-workers and owner;
•Build a team environment that ensures that the customer is number one.

Experience Desired:

•Three (3) plus years of experience in retail management and/or purchasing in a full-line hardware store;
•Proven inventory management knowledge;
•Verifiable innovative merchandising expertise;
•Demonstrated leadership, negotiation and analytical skills;
•Ability to listen and comprehend and then share ideas and concepts;
•Multi-store management responsibility highly desired;
•Experience in strengthening sales/marketing trends by staying abreast of market trends.
