Material Planner 5, Production Control
Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, AviationFunction: ManufacturingResponsibilities: * Provide functional material responsibility for assembly and/or selected sub-contract or joint venture manufacturing sites as required.
Responsible for inventory management for assigned parts & processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished.
Coordinate planning & scheduling activities for assigned commodity utilizing advanced planning tools to model, simulate, & release optimized material plans to the organization.
Identify all critical hardware shortages, monitor the implementation of corrective actions plans, control inventory levels of hardware, & coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, & excess hardware.
Apply appropriate optimization methodologies to balance service level, inventory, and resource utilization using advanced planning tools.
Monitor performance to the plan & take pro-active action to solve problems & mitigate risk in meeting the plan.
Maintain manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy for selected sub-contract or joint venture sites, & coordinate any customs/freight forwarding activities required.
Assure timely release of hardware requirements, & monitor status of Request for Material/Change in Procurement Instruction through evaluation of stock out requirements and critical parts lists.
Assure issuance of Revenue Share Partners Spares Production Orders, assist import valuation issues, implement revenue share spares contracts.
Analyze data & collaborate in the determination & the subsequent application of appropriate order, inventory, & replenishment policies.
Utilize modeling data & obtain collaborative feedback to perform optimization simulations & recovery scheduling.
Interface with Demand Management, Shop Scheduling, Fulfillment Team, configuration control, all sources of supply, customer service reps, & other GE organizations as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelors degree from and accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing management or planning position).
At least 3 additional years of experience in Inventory Management and Warehouse Modules, Materials, or Production Planning and Control.Desired: * Analytical and system proficiency skills.
Ability to effectively operate in any organizational structure.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
