Loss Prevention ManagerOverview of Position:Aggressively manage merchandise, credit, check, cash and refund theft in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible.Supervise, coordinate, administer and participate in all Loss Prevention programs to minimize loss and protect company assets.Key Accountabilities: Maintain a high level awareness for shortage programs and actively participate in those programs. Lead the annual inventory process. Maintain prevention of internal theft through orientation and program awareness. Initiate, conduct, manage and ensure quality investigations resulting in case resolution through employee interviews, corrective action, termination or referral for prosecution. Work closely with Central Investigations to identify, investigate and resolve internal theft situations. Develop and maintain shoplifter prevention and awareness programs. Detect, apprehend and follow up on external theft issues. Work closely with Regional Investigations Teams, NIS and MIT to identify and ultimately apprehend those involved in organized criminal activity related to retail theft. Maintain relationship and contact with local law enforcement agencies. Ensure investigations meet Macys standards. Ensure team is properly trained on all aspects of Loss Prevention job responsibilities. Provide maximum coverage to store through proper scheduling and use of budgeted hours. Write and deliver performance appraisals and address developmental needs of team. Ensure all physical security controls are operational and in use (i.e., alarms, Detex, locking and securing mechanisms, etc.) Establish and maintain contacts with local law enforcement and criminal justice teams. Maintain contacts with retail partners in local markets, ensuring a positive company image. Monitor compliance with all cash control procedures and related documentation; follow up on all deficiencies. Work with CSA, Credit and Central Check Collections to initiate prosecution, as directed. Assist stores in ensuring compliance to proper check and credit card acceptance procedures. Understand and use all systems and tools appropriately. Ensure all team members have attended orientation and are provided with the basics for preventing losses to the company. Ensure executive team is trained on all Loss Prevention programs, systems and procedures. Participate with store team to deliver whatever is right for the customer, which may include assuming responsibilities outside routine job functions.Skills Summary: Excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication and interviewing skills Able to work with highly confidential information Able to apprehend and confront customers or team members in a calm, professional and diplomatic manner. Knowledge of all areas of Loss Prevention, including internal investigations and the use of electronic detection equipment. Knowledge of department store and corporate information and investigation systems or the capacity to learn them.
