Job Description:
Lead Programmer/Analyst will be a key member of the Inventory Systems DC (Distribution Center) Forecasting and Replenishment team. The team actively develops new applications while continuing to enhance and support existing systems. These systems are designed to optimize our warehouse inventory to achieve the perfect balance of inventory investment and high service level for orders that serve the stores, and ultimately, Walgreen customers.

Responsibilities:
Analyze business problems and project requirements, translating into technical solutions, and formulating project scope and objectives.

Perform tasks in all phases of project development (gathering requirements, design, coding, testing, and implementation) and all aspects of systems support for existing and newly developed applications.

Coordinate the project development and support activities of team members, users, and consultants in a leadership role.

Contribute time on nights and weekends occasionally (on a rotational basis), as necessary to address support issues or to meet critical deadlines.

Applications/Systems: CML and Timephased Inventory, Purchase Orders & Transfers, Integrated Forecasting, Secondary Source, Investment Buying.


Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems. Strong project management skills are important for this position, with success in leading others in a team environment. Excellent communication skills are required. Technical skills desired include AS/400, Synon/2E and/or COBOL, Query/400, CL programming. Experience/knowledge of CA’s All Fusion Plex would be a plus. Unix, SQL, Java, Mainframe skills could also be beneficial in this team.
