Distribution Planner

Quebecor World is one of the largest commercial printers in the world. Our Logistics division, located in Bensenville, IL, is currently seeking a Distribution Planner to join our expanding division. You will continually monitor and adjust load plan(s) as appropriate if plant delivery time is changed or customer requirements are altered. The Load Planner must communicate with appropriate departments or plants involved in preliminary load plan to determine status of freight delivery to ensure the freight will be available as planned and that the customer requirements will be met. The person in this position will evaluate, determine, and select the most cost efficient mode of transportation; i.e. air, rail or common carrier to use as delivery means to optimize load plan. Address issues of inefficient loads working with appropriate customer, department and plant to alter delivery dates or customer requirements if possible to develop optimal load. The Load Planner must prioritize job responsibilities frequently due to aggressive deadlines and identify and resolve discrepancies and/or communication issues as posed by the customer, plant, and consolidation center. Generate optimal load plans utilizing applicable load planning software to meet meet customer requirements and, at the same time, be the most efficient and cost-effective delivery schedule.
REQUIREMENTS
BA or AA Degree; and one to three years related experience in logistics load planning, traffic, mailing, and/or shipping departments; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Logistics or Transportation industry. Education or coursework in Logistics or Transportation field preferred.
