Director of Inventory

Shipper/packer who is a true market leader in the produce industry is seeking a Director of Inventory to be responsible for overseeing all Inventory related activities. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the position will be based on the Santa Barbara/Los Angeles coast.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Develop and implement a highly efficient inventory system for all seven operating facilities throughout the U.S.
Manage, direct and motivate managers and staff to successfully achieve inventory management goals.
Ensure open communication with all departments acting as the source of centralized communication for all inventory related matters.
Establish procedures and policies for managing quality control and quality assurance throughout company’s inventory process.
Coordinate the development of new positions within the department as new responsibilities are identified.
Responsible for all employment decisions for the department to include manager and staff selection, training, and development.
Some travel will be required.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years experience in Inventory Management or Operations.
Produce industry preferred
Proficient computer skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Effective communication skills
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
Ability and desire to work in a team oriented environment as well as manage time independently
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization
Attention to detail and results oriented
Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
