GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Convert requisitions to purchase orders for the ordering of supplies to support supply management and logistics operations. Maintain buyer support through files, correspondence, and reports. Assist in buyer's daily duties. Manage process for tracking and disposing of surplus and obsolete material, and for the preparation and maintenance of performance reports for logistics processes.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Communicate with suppliers to place orders, expedite deliveries, resolve invoice discrepancies, revise delivery schedules, arrange returns, obtain shipping information, obtain pricing and availability information.
Work closely with all requisitioning departments and personnel to coordinate delivery schedules, provide purchase order information, and resolve invoice discrepancies.
Perform RCP duties as delegated.
Gather and compile data with assistance from logistics staff required to monitor the performance of logistics processes such as receiving, shipping, and stocking processes.
Process material returns in compliance with departmental operating procedures to assure that unneeded materials are returned in a manner that minimizes potential loss to the company.
Manage process for tracking and disposing of surplus and obsolete material.
Maintain stockroom catalog.
Maintain workflow data and generate reports for logistics and supply management staff.
Maintain vendor file information, update certificate of liability insurance file, and maintain mailing lists.
Schedule meetings for supply management and logistics staff.
Problem solve in an independent manner and request assistance from buyer or logistics staff when necessary.Qualifications
Associate Degree in related field. Experience may be substituted for education requirement.6 years of applicable experience.
Must be able to accurately read and record information.
Must possess basic math skills.
Communication skills, both oral and written are essential.
Working knowledge of personal computers and software programs necessary (e.g, Microsoft Office, SDG).At Covance, we help make the miracles of medicine a reality.
