Our client is a well-known and respected automotive tier 1 supplier.

In this search we are looking for an experienced automotive buyer to add to our purchasing staff.

OVERVIEW: • The purpose of this position is to develop and lead supply chain initiatives and activities for a low to medium in complexity commodities in accordance with the business strategic requirements set forth by Worldwide Procurement Management. The incumbent will be responsible for all tactical aspects of supply chain procurement including material cost reduction, supplier negotiations, strategic procurement, quality and delivery improvements, VA/VE, project management and supply base reduction.

DIMENSIONS: • $100 - $200 million purchase spend...fasteners, plastic and powdered metal • 25 – 50 suppliers • Plant facilitator responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Develop and implement sourcing strategies • Material cost reduction • Supply base reductions • Supply chain optimization • Supplier delivery & quality improvements • Supplier QS certification and compliance • Implementation of VCI initiatives • Implementation of eProcurement initiatives

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering • 6 – 9 years experience in commodity or production applications • Willingness to travel globally • Strong understanding of CVS/LVS products (Market place, plant experience, industrial processing, supply base) • Multi-lingual preferred • Strong automotive and/ or Tier 1 business perspective.
