Assistant Purchasing Manager

Join Sterling Stores, a privately owned convenience store company operating 28 retail locations in NW Ohio for over 70 years. This full time position is based out of our Distribution Center in Delta, OH.

Job responsibilities: monitor and maintain proper inventory levels in the distribution center by generating and analyzing reports; assess and adjust pricing structure; research and implement new products; conduct vendor meetings negotiating cost and evaluating quality, availability and delivery competitiveness; manage inventory adjustments; schedule and process plus-shipments and store signage; perform special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Job qualifications: bachelors degree or equivalent work experience; demonstrated negotiation, leadership and analytical skills; excellent interpersonal, oral communication and organizational skills; accounting knowledge; problem solver; accurate; meet deadlines; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; proficient in Microsoft Office excel and a valid driver’s license. Prior retail purchasing experience in the grocery or convenience store industry is preferred.
