Senior Marketing Specialist
JOB PURPOSE: The Senior Marketing Specialist supports the sales effort by planning and executing marketing communications for health insurance products aimed at the mature (65+) market. Primary duties include establishing objectives and developing project plans for a wide variety of integrated marketing tactics such as print collaterals, advertising, direct mail, flyers and community events. The senior specialist leads internal cross-functional teams, works with the SCAN Creative Services Department, advertising agencies and printers to execute the planned projects. The senior specialist keeps management, agency partners and all stakeholders apprised of progress, challenges and obstacles. Will operate as "right hand" to VP, Marketing. ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS: Using advanced marketing knowledge and experience, develops effective strategies, tactical recommendations and project plans to meet assigned communication objectives. Provides leadership to agency and internal resources to develop content and oversee design of print collateral, benefit disclosures, brochures, advertisements, flyers, presentations and community events. Applies deep project management knowledge and experience to schedule and execute marketing projects. Manages the cost of design, development and production by collaborating with agencies and vendors to proactively seek cost-effective solutions. Ensures that all materials are consistent with the brand look, tone and feel by understanding the broader marketing strategy and applying brand standards and good design practices. Maintains compliance of printed materials by collaborating with the Compliance department to understand and meet all federal and state regulations while balancing the needs of the business. Contributes to team effort by maintaining collegial relationships at all levels within the organization. Provides regular reports and ad hoc updates keeping management, agency partners and all stakeholders apprised of progress, challenges and obstacles.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field required with 5+ years experience in marketing project or program management. 3-5 years experience working with agencies, internal resources and print production vendors required. Healthcare industry or mature market (65+) marketing experience strongly desired. Must have strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to articulate a point-of-view and effectively lead in a cross-functional team environment. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and consistently identify clear priorities. Ability to work with minimal supervision and ability to meet deadlines consistently without sacrificing quality is also a must.
