Responsibilities:
Installation and Development:
Successfully complete the Career Development Program.
Attend and participate in all Home Office and field training classes and meetings.
Read, understand, and implement sales policies and programs communicated through team meetings, bulletins and other releases from Home Office.
Complete objectives related to sales, prospecting and utilization of proper selling techniques.
Complete self-directed training programs to enhance sales abilities and results.
Premium Acquisitions:
Participate in the development and attainment of production and activity objectives.
Meet or exceed objectives for new business written premium.
Pursue leads assigned by the Company.
Field Underwriting:
Field underwrite new business according to company policies and procedures.
Participate in loss prevention activities by inspecting the risk to determine eligibility and to assure company standards are met.
Advise company on market trends and the product needs of policyholders.
Policyholder Service:
Provide total insurance planning by analyzing existing exposures and coverages, assessing needs and developing a plan for meeting those needs with Sentry products.
In the event of a loss, refer the policyholder to the appropriate claims center.
Relationships:
Work closely with Sales Manager and Home Office training to develop solid foundation in insurance products and sales techniques.
Work with Home Office underwriting and customer service units as needed
Work closely with Market Affiliations and Sentry employees to maximize the available prospecting and sales opportunities.
Have daily contact with a Sales Manager, sales office staff, or other sales support functions as necessary.Job Requirements
Strong communication skills, analytical skills and math aptitude are essential. Knowledge of effective selling techniques and previous sales experience are desired. Background in technical insurance (e.g., rates, coverage, etc.) is desired. Previous company experience to provide familiarity with company policies and procedures is helpful.
