Pricing Actuary

Position Summary:
Design, develop and price annuity and life insurance, with an emphasis on new designs of Equity Indexed Annuities.

Primary Job Duties:
1. Work with VP of Product Development and Marketing Leaders to identify and price key product features, as required by the organization.

2. Create Pricing Models and set actuarially sound pricing assumptions. Work with other team members to ensure pricing is completed, including creation of the product-pricing book, and risk profile of each product.

3. Communicate Pricing results with key Carrier Actuaries and address any concerns they may have. This includes obtaining Actuarial signoff from Carrier, and move forward with product launch in a timely manner.

4. Obtain sign-off from Marketing Product Leaders that the product meets their desired objectives.

5. Provide Actuarial support and technical expertise for contract language draft, state filings, Actuarial Memorandum, responses to state objections, and internal and external audits as necessary. This includes working with other areas of the company such as compliance, software development and systems to ensure technical correctness and interpretation of the specifications.

6. Provide Actuarial support as necessary to other parts of the Organization. This includes support for special calculations, creation of Annuitization Models, development of product Illustrations and others, as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
1. Attainment of FSA or ASA designation with at least 10 years of experience in insurance industry, with emphasis on pricing and financial reporting of Equity Indexed Annuities and Life Insurance products.
2. Member of the American Academy Actuaries.
3. Working knowledge of ALFA or TAS, and strong EXCEL spreadsheet knowledge.
4. Excellent verbal and communication skills.
5. Analytical, detailed and result oriented.

Preferred Requirements:
1. FSA Designation with 15 years relevant experience.
2. Strong knowledge of ALFA or TAS pricing model for Pricing EIAs and Life Insurance products.
3. Strong EXCEL knowledge
4. Experience in working in a consulting environment – particularly with non-actuarial personne
