Medical Trainer

Location: Westlake Village and Culver City

Key Job Family Responsibilities:
- RN preferred
- Present Corporate-approved training programs as well as design/present training for claim and defense associates regarding the analysis of injury claims after receiving Corporate-approval on developed training.
- Serve as a technical resource to claim and defense personnel on the subject of the treatment and prognosis of injuries, mechanism of injury, and medical/vocational rehabilitation.
- May act as a liaison with healthcare consultants, providers, auditors, and medical/rehabilitation facilities.

Items of Note:
- Medical background; extensive medical experience; i.e., critical care, emergency department, orthopedics, general surgery, occupational health, physical therapy, occupational therapy or, chiropractic is preferred
- Where conditions warrant, incumbents will serve both the Fire and Auto Companies

Job description:
- Presents Injury Claim Training modules to claim management, claim handlers, and defense counsel regarding injury claims
- Presents effective training and informational programs on the technical subject of injuries, treatment and prognosis of injuries, mechanism of injury, and medical/vocational rehabilitation
- Reviews, updates, and develops training and information products on relevant injury topics according to company standards. Prepares material for submission for corporate review and approval, according to policy
- Conducts comprehensive and analytical reviews of medical records, and identifies medical training needs
- Conducts objective educational research on medical diagnostic tools and treatment protocols
- Participates in surveys as directed by claim management in the zone for purposes of determining injury claim issues and training needs. Makes recommendations for such training to claim management
- Utilizes a computer for research and training presentations
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with State Farm associates and others
- Ability to foster/maintain good public relations
