Insurance/Health Benefits District Sales Manager
Western Growers Insurance Services (full-service agency) celebrates more than 80 years of serving the fresh produce industry in California and Arizona. Our association members are the farmers who grow, pack and ship nearly one half of the nation's fresh vegetables, fruits and nuts. Some of the services we provide to our members include: health benefits, government relations, community relations, training, transportation claims and negotiations, legal and labor relations, financial services and retirement benefits, and property and casualty coverage.
We have an immediate opening for a District Sales Manager in our Fresno/Salinas office. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales; the responsibilities will include:
•Meet and exceed all new sales and retention goals
•Provide leadership/mentorship/motivation to approximately 10 field staff members
•Identify the training needs of supervised staff
•Ensure that supervised staff completes all WGIS and WG training modules (initial and ongoing)
•Provide direction to supervised staff on how to analyze and plan to maximize sales and customer retention within their territories
•Ensure that all supervised staff complies with WGIS requirements (e.g., customer call frequency, handling customer issues, implementing new business, etc.)
•Provide staff corrective action, as necessary
•Interface regularly with WG Underwriting by providing accurate customer/prospect information and to ascertain best customers rates
•Participate routinely in customer and prospect meetings along side supervised staff members
•Organize and hold routine staff meetings; Participate in WGIS and WG meetings
•Maintain awareness of competitive activities; Transmit sales intelligence relating to competition/changes in the marketplace
•Participate in project teams and committees as requested
•All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
BS/BA degree and five years of successful sales management/leadership and direct sales experience in healthcare field preferred. Understanding of organizational employee benefits and insurance sales and marketplace dynamics (purchasing employee benefits and other insurance products). Life and Disability and/or Fire and Casualty licenses required. Robust ability to motivate and lead staff. Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and other client management programs (VISIO, Access). Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and exceptional written/verbal communication skills are strongly desired. Must have a clean & verifiable DMV record and ability to travel to regional office locations throughout CA and AZ. (50% Travel)
