USAA is currently seeking a talented Claims Service Manager for our Phoenix, AZ location.
As a Claims Service Manager for USAA, you will select develop and support employees in fulfillment of our Corporate Mission. You will provide coaching and feedback that lead to sound business results. You will manage employee performance and facilitate professional development and career progression while ensuring that employees understand how the tasks they perform support the Operating State. You will proactively identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness as well as implement and monitor processes and performance standards. You will provide feedback for improvements to process and product owners. While removing obstacles and championing change, you will achieve optimal productivity through managing workload volumes, staffing, training needs and identifying and implementing appropriate solutions. You will manage the investigation, evaluation and settlement of automobile, property and/or physical damage claims. You will establish and monitor claims reserves and grant settlement authority as well as conduct file reviews and review reports to ensure compliance with company policy and statutory requirements. You will identify trends and problems and propose solutions. You will provide feedback, guidance and training as needed. When applicable, you will facilitate establishment of new STARS facilities. You will manage independent and staff appraisers as well as manage expenses. You will coordinate internal and external service providers in the delivery of services to customers and employees.
Qualified candidates need to possess:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
3 years of applicable property and casualty claims experience.
Ability to acquire and maintain any applicable insurance licenses.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and applicable systems.
Preferred experience includes:
Prior leadership roles/experience within or outside of industry.
Additional claims experience, to include field claims adjusting, litigation management, physical damage or homeowners' appraisal experience.
