Job Description:
Claims Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations and Claims
Primary Responsibility:
This position is responsible for the following research, review and resolution of claims cases sent from Customer Service to the Claims Department. This position is responsible for the timely resolution of issues and the possible coordination of the resolution with Technology, Claims and Customer Service. This position will also support other areas of the Service Delivery Operations team as needed.
Specific Responsibilities include:
• Promotes a local high performing claims service organization• Oversees the timely receipt, review, research and resolution of Flexible Spending Accounts and Commuter claims
• Ensures team adherence to answering and responding to cases in less than 4 hours with a turn time of less than 24 hours
• Collaborates with other departments to resolve errors in a timely manner
• Work to resolve denied or pending claims as expeditiously as possible
• Ensure timely audit and reporting of audit results to Director of Claims
• Responsible for fostering an environment that requires high levels of individual accountability, professionalism, collaboration and creative business solutions
• Utilizes Management tools, resources and business routines established to ensure Claims standardization and consistency
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Attention to detail required
• Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple tasks/priorities and the ability to work under specific time constraints
• Excellent fact-finding and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills within a fast paced professional business environment (both in writing and verbal)
• 5+ years Claims Management experience required
• 5-10 years experience in employee assessment, development, and management in a high performance team of at least 20+ employees required
• In depth knowledge of flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and commuter benefits preferred
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
