TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

SUMMARY
This multi-faceted position plays an integral role in maintenance, analysis, troubleshooting and repair of personal computer hardware, software and peripherals. In this role you will be documenting, maintaining, and upgrading/replacing hardware and software, manning the TechSupport helpdesk as well as monitoring and maintaining the corporate office telephone system. You will also, on a regular basis, interact with computer users and other technical staff as required in resolving problems and planning future development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist users with software and hardware problems and repairs.
• Assist in the maintenance of local area networks, making necessary changes when required.
• Maintain TechSupport helpdesk function, including tracking all requests for service and ensuring a timely and appropriate response and meeting service guarantee levels.
• Implement telephone adds/moves/changes using the PBX system. Troubleshoot telephone and connectivity problems for users.
• Train new users on the use of personal computers, local area networks, telephones, voice mail, Livelink general systems and security procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Three years experience supporting users of desktop application in a networked environment including Novell NetWare and Windows 2003 servers.
• Experience supporting Windows XP, Microsoft Office, GroupWise, Microsoft Project, Livelink, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Symantec Antivirus is desired.
• Demonstrated experience in training and documentation. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, including remote users.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent customer services skills.
