TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR III
Purpose
To manage and implement corporate quality systems at the mill level. Ensure Business Technical and Quality initiatives are properly deployed. The incumbent in this position works independently under general direction, and manages a team or project.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage quality activities at the plant level in alignment with Corporate Quality Management Systems.
Ensure plant compliance with all product specifications, certification agency guidelines, and Corporate quality policies.
Manage Quality systems to assure product performance.
Lead and deploy process optimization (cost reduction, new technology, etc.), product development, and continuous process improvement.
Manage and supervise plant Quality employees.
Train, coach, and conduct performance evaluations for plant Quality employees.
Collaborate with plant departments and other functional groups.
Lead plant Quality self-assessment and coordinate corporate internal Quality audits.
Identify, initiate, and coordinate training opportunities for employees in areas such as experimental design, statistical process control, process improvement, and quality management systems.
Actively participate as a member of the plant management team in formulating policies and procedures and goals and objectives.
Evaluate informational and statistical reports from plant managers and assist in developing their annual product assurance budget.
Develop and implement monitoring systems for quality assurance, variation analysis, and waste/falldown elimination.
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of quality system.
Thorough knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and process optimization.
Demonstrated knowledge of math concepts and statistical analysis.
In depth knowledge of customer requirements, compliance regulations, quality processes and procedures.
Skill in leading, planning, coaching, training, and supervising.
Ability to develop and implement business strategy.
Ability to operate job related equipment and tools.
Ability to evaluate and optimize test procedures.
Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects.
Ability to operate a computer and supporting software.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
Education
Bachelorâ??s degree in Science, Engineering.
Experience
Minimum 6 yearsâ?? quality experience in a manufacturing environment, 3 years of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
Demonstrated experience in implementing business and corporate strategies such as Statistical Quality Control (SQC), Quality Management Systems, and Continuous Improvement.
Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, problem solving, Quality Management Systems, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
REQUIREMENTS
*Bachelorâ??s degree in Science, Engineering, or Related field.
Minimum 6 yearsâ?? quality experience in a manufacturing environment, 3 years of which must be in a supervisory capacity.
Demonstrated experience in implementing business and corporate strategies such as Statistical Quality Control (SQC), Quality Management Systems, and Continuous Improvement.
