Technician ExxonMobil Opportunities at the Exxon Mobil Torrance, California Refinery Process Technicians (entry level): - The refinery operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; process technicians operate the refinery on a rotating shift basis (days and nights) with every other weekend off. This schedule also requires some holidays to be normally scheduled as work days. - Process technicians monitor and ensure the proper operation of outside equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, product samples, etc. - Entry level positions entail labor intensive duties. Instrumentation Technicians - Looking for >2 years experience in Industrial Instrumentation with the following skill set - ISA Certified Control System Technician (CCST) or equivalent - Able to troubleshoot, calibrate and repair flow, pressure, level and temperature sensing elements as well as control devices such as control valves, valve positioners, and electronic/pneumatic transducers. - Able to troubleshoot/understand programmable logic controllers (PLC's) - Able to understand process, instrumentation and control diagrams - Understanding of process and/or CEMS analyzers desired Machinist/Millwright Technicians: - Looking for 3 to 5 yrs of experience in Machinist/Millwright Technicians with the following skills - Able to understand rotating equipment (both pump and drivers) in an outside field environment - Able to perform alignments between pump and drivers in an outside field environment - Demonstrate understanding of lubrication oil systems, pump seals and bearings - Demonstrate understanding in steam turbine troubleshooting and repairs Industrial Electricians: - Prefer >5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician with the following skills - Ability and knowledge to perform preventative maintenance on switchgears - Ability and knowledge to troubleshoot motors, motor controls and wiring - Able to thoroughly understand electrical diagrams. Knowledge of VFD's, PLC's is desired. Laboratory Technicians (entry level) - Laboratory Technicians analyze refinery stream and product samples on a rotating shift basis (days and nights) with every other weekend off. This schedule also requires some holidays to be normally scheduled as work days. - Laboratory technicians should have a minimum of two years college science, mathematics or equivalent (Associate Degree) or 2 years of laboratory experience.
