Solder Reworker
Applies advanced soldering knowledge to perform repetitive assembly rework, re-soldering, removal and replacement of electronic components. Requires ability to perform intricate solder rework and repair using basic and advanced soldering techniques and equipment, including specialized solder reworking systems. Components replaced will include discrete surface mount devices, fine pitch integrated circuits, multi-conductor connectors and BGA type devices.
REQUIREMENTS
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follows directions and daily work assignments directed by the supervisor or lead. Based on component designation and failure descriptions, perform the required soldering rework including touch-up, re-flow, removal of components, site preparation, replacement of components and cleanup as required. Re-solder, remove and replace discrete surface mount devices, fine pitch integrated circuits, multi-conductor connectors and BGA type devices. Enter data into computer tracking system
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.
Follows company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Recommends changes to improve process methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Keeps up a neat, clean and organized work area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred candidates will possess soldering certification from an accredited institution or certificate granting industry organization such as IPC-7711, IPC-7712 or J-STD-001. Must possess at least two (2) years directly related experience. Highly preferred candidates will meet the preceding requirements plus have experience using advanced solder rework systems and lead free solders.
Must be familiar with advanced soldering techniques. Must demonstrate skills required to replace a wide variety of components including fine pitch IC’s and connectors, surface mount and BGA components. Must be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in the use of basic soldering tools. Must demonstrate ability to effectively use hand-held, hot air solder reworking tools (aka. Liester, Hakko, etc…)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak, read (fine print) and write in English. Able to follow verbal and written directions. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good computer skills, ability to use windows driven software. Must be detailed-oriented and the ability to perform matching, (able to match handset model with replacement parts). Ability to use basic precision tools.
