Part Time Computer Operator

BASIC FUNCTION:

Operates and maintains the IBM AS 400 and related equipment used to process payrolls and required reports for EasyPay clients. Ensures laser check stock, forms and other related supplies are available. Prepares packages and distribute checks and reports for delivery to the clients. Responsible for all routine equipment maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operates the IBM AS 400 and related equipment for processing EasyPay client payrolls. Monitors operations for equipment failure or program malfunction; troubleshoots routine problems; confers with technical personnel regarding complex errors. (30%)

2. Prepares payrolls for delivery in timely and accurate manner. (25%)

3. Runs and prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for delivery; processes miscellaneous reports, as required. (10%)

4. Performs daily, weekly and quarterly system backup procedures as required. Prepares the system for next day's processing. (10%)

5. Performs routine preventative maintenance on computer equipment as required; maintains operating records. (5%)

6. Uses data communications equipment to transmit and/or receive various types of data (i.e., W-2s, money movement); receives and processes client payroll transfers between Service Centers. (10%)

7. Assists in installing and disconnecting peripheral equipment and system re-configurations. (5%)

8. Monitors laser check stock, forms and other supplies to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained. Reorders stock as required; stocks shelves with deliveries. (5%)
