Optical Production Technician

Bristow Optical Tucson is seeking an Optical Production Technician with eyeglass manufacturing experience who is responsible for meeting production goals according to quality control and account standards in first inspection, blocking, edging, mounting, and final inspection of completed eyewear.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain quality by proofreading and comparing Rx forms for material and special services requested as well as verifying power/prism/etc. of lenses and cosmetic quality.
Operate lensometer, and computer-controlled production equipment.Perform some operator maintenance on machines.Request maintenance on equipment that needs additional repairs or maintenance
Supports and assures that quality and quantity standards established by the company are maintained and improved upon.
Analyze problems that arise and determine actions that will minimize the problems, decrease costs and/or improve yields, recommend changes to management and help to implement those changes.
Maintains inter- and intra-departmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in all areas of optical production (finishing and surfacing)
High School graduate or equivalent
Demonstrated attention to detail and quality focus.Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
Able to use good judgment in order to maintain quality standards based on job knowledge.Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Capable of high-volume, fast-paced work.
Able to read and understand written and verbal English instructions required for proper understanding of all operation, safety and prescription instructions.Able to sit or stand continuously throughout the shift, and able to walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull intermittently.Able to lift up to 10 lbs. continuously throughout the day, and up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
