JOB SUMMARY
Provide general support and assistance to computer users; ensures resolution of user problems; will identify and correct user hardware or software problems and install, diagnose, test and maintain microcomputers and all other components of the company’s data and telecommunications infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-Provides first level of support to users on supported equipment providing problem determination and resolution.
-Set up new equipment, including hardware set-up, installing software, configuring, and testing.
-Performs routine scheduled maintenance on installed equipment to ensure proper operation and cleanliness required for production and completes paperwork according to procedures.
-Installs software updates and completes paperwork according to procedures.
-Install, diagnose and troubleshoot basic problems with LAN/WAN equipment, connections and nodes, including workstations, servers, printers, modems, and peripheral equipment.
-Research answers and provide end user support on site and remotely regarding supported software (e.g., word processing, terminal emulation, and electronic mail).
-Maintain helpdesk and inventory records, record and track problems and follow up to ensure resolution, involving vendors and other Information Services staff as necessary.
-Provide on-site introductory training on new hardware and software to users
-Install telephone equipment; update, program, and perform back-ups of telephone switches; diagnose telephone problems and coordinate repairs.
-Install, terminate, test and troubleshoot in-house station cable.
-Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
-One-year certificate from college or technical school; 4+ years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Knowledge of PC’s peripherals, servers, Windows and DOS.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
